Where is Marlo
History and Philosophy
Where is Marlo is a Swiss brand of eco-responsible clothing with a contemporary style, created in 2015 in Sion by Anne-Sophie Bitz. From the start, the objective was to create a unique brand universe, with a strong and timeless soul. It was impossible for us not to be attentive to the ecological impact as well as the working conditions... obvious to us who believe that the balance of the world comes from the harmonious cohabitation between living beings and respect for the riches of nature... So it was with these ideas in mind that Marlo, our little citizen of the world, was born and the project began... a creative project on the one hand but also research to be in agreement with our values. We have therefore created for Marlo a tailor-made universe, colorful, graphic and minimalist at the same time, with unusual mixtures inspired by civilizations and nature. We wanted its particular, mysterious, wild world, made of encounters and surprises. In order to give each piece a unique and timeless soul, each item is created with particular care in the cut, colors, finishes and finishes. printed. These are entirely created by us and are mostly inspired by abstract or graphic patterns. The collections are approached in the continuity of a journey, so the colors and pieces can intertwine from one season to the next.
Who is behind the brand
Her experience in monitoring production in India and China also reinforced her idea that the world of clothing is very fragile and that much could be done to better respect people and nature. It is therefore inhabited by this desire and this observation that Anne-Sophie created Where is Marlo ;-)
Ecological and social commitment
By producing exclusively in Europe, and more precisely in the Porto region in Portugal. Production is coordinated by a family company working for more than twenty years with various specialized factories and production workshops in the region. This proximity allows us to meet each visit with the companies involved in production (knitting, dyeing, printing factory, etc.) for total transparency on the processes used and existing certifications.
By using natural materials as a priority: mainly GOTS certified organic cotton (certification which ensures compliance with social and environmental criteria in the yarn supply chain) or recycled cotton.
By working with dyeing and printing factories certified STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® (this certification regulates the use of dyes harmful to health and the environment)
By researching and gradually introducing new materials or new production processes that meet our ethical and environmental criteria
By taking care of the finishes and quality of the fabrics with a view to durability
By prioritizing our sales on Swiss territory. We are a Swiss brand, and proud of it, and therefore we reduce transport distances.
