Who is behind the brand
Delphine grew up in Geneva and continued her university studies at HEC Lausanne for 5 years. Freshly graduated in 2015, she began her career in consulting for SMEs and start-ups before moving towards digital marketing. Through her work, she quickly realizes that there is a string missing from her bow: having a real environmental or social impact.
Immersed in the world of textiles from a very young age thanks to her grandparents, one in the field of spinning in Alsace and the other in the field of fashion in Paris, it was the Rana disaster Plaza which makes him aware of the underbelly of fashion. From then on, AVANI begins to mature nicely in his head.
It was in March 2017, the victim of a serious skiing accident which immobilized her for 8 months, that Delphine decided to take the plunge. Between her desire to create and her desire to make things happen, she officially launched AVANI at the end of 2018.
Ecological and social commitment
We are extremely rigorous in our sourcing process, selecting the most ecological, local and traceable materials that currently exist on the market (notably Tencel® as an alternative to cotton since it uses 18 times less water than the latter ) to make pieces that have not traveled around the world before ending up in your wardrobes.
The creations are therefore made from single-material, 100% natural fabrics (Tencel, linen, hemp, modal) whose dyes are ecological and which are GOTS or Okeo-tex 100 certified.
The production is entrusted to two human-sized workshops based in France near Lyon. Thus, the models are designed within a 190 km radius of their showroom in Geneva.
In a “die-hard” spirit, the clothes were designed without zippers and only with buttons made from European and natural materials (based on French boxwood or Italian milk casein), manufactured less than 500 km from Geneva .
