Refabmarket
History and Philosophy
Refabmarket is a new creation language. We believe that it is possible to become the spokesperson for a new way of consuming inspired by natural cycles: the circular economy. We are passionate about travel, discovery, art, music and especially fashion. We love browsing vintage stores, garage sales and second-hand sales of all kinds, to find the iconic and timeless cuts that will inspire our creations. We feel good about our times while defending the values of a slow lifestyle: we like what is beautiful for your eyes, good for the planet and good for those who make it.
“In nature, nothing is lost, nothing is created, everything is transformed.” Refabmarket is based on this ethic to highlight all the positive initiatives of the circular economy and recycling in all its forms. Our philosophy is inspired by biomimicry: imitating the balance of natural ecosystems by transforming our waste into wealth through creativity.
Who is behind the brand
Ecological and social commitment
– We manufacture on the principles of the circular economy: a virtuous model that is low in resource consumption. We imagine innovative ways of refining waste so as not to draw on our planet's resources.
– We do not use harmful products to make or transform our clothes.
– We manufacture in a short circuit (-150 km) to limit the carbon impact of transport.
SOCIAL IMPACT
Refabmarket has integrated the principles of the Social and Solidarity Economy into its governance plan: We produce in a short circuit and create jobs locally by promoting professional reintegration. Most textile products are produced on the other side of the world so that we could manufacture locally, in better social and health conditions. We have already participated indirectly in the creation of 30 seamstress jobs in professional reintegration. These women are reborn professionally thanks to tailoring. We are also participating in the rebirth of know-how which, in addition to generating employment, recreates wealth in our territory. The purchase of clothing made in France generates (in turn) 3 times more jobs in the region than the purchase of imported clothing.
